Today's some special chinese new year day for Hokkien people. I forgot what it's called but I know it happens during the fifteen days of chinese new year and that Hokkien people have to pray on that day. My next door neighbors have a whole table set out in the front with red candles and banners and some green leaves over the door. There were a lot of fireworks going on today and earlier you could hear a lion dance going on somewhere in the neighborhood. Amy and Ah Hong and me had planned to finish off some fireworks that Ah Hong brought back from Johor but it was drizzling tonight so we just stayed in and opened a bottle of red wine.
Went downtown to Chinatown with Wan Lee. I took her to eat at the Green Hut, this cool place that Edwin once showed a bunch of us peeps from the NST office. It's really cool, with green walls where you can scribble stuff on, and really cute drink names like unrequited love and ardent love. nwayz, i got some great stuff in chinatown - a new red (guilty! red again!) top, this funky pink wraparound beachwear skirt, and a couple of caps for dirt cheap prices. And while we were there, we saw this shop selling birds and they were soooo cute! there were robins and finches and canaries and even a bunch of fluffy little yellow ducklings all cuddled up together. but it was a little sad to see them all cooped up in cages :(

I bought a Beyonce CD for my sis but when i opened it tonight i found a linkin park meteora cd inside instead. now i'd rather have the linkin park cd than beyonce but when i took it out, i realized it was broken into several pieces. Rip-off!!!
