Well, after I flopped into bed and drifted off into wonderful sleep, I woke up at eight thirty this morning. (Thursday is supposed to be my sleeping-in day! Nooo!) Got my stuff together and a couple of slices of toast and traisped out to make my way clear over to the other side of the campus to catch the bus. (By the way, the kind computer system at the Transperth website gave me the wrong info - I could just as well have caught a bus from right outside my flat rather then make a fifteen minute walk across the campus). Bumped into JP on the way to uni, it was nice to have someone to walk with and brighten up my day with all his funny stories in the early morning! And it was definitely a gloomy cloudy morning that morning! Wish I had someone to walk with tomorrow morning. Duchess! Fulfill your duty as a friend and get your lazy ass out of bed to walk me to class tomorrow! :D
Anyway, caught the bus into the city (and i had absolutely NO idea that the street which I was supposed to go to was in the city until I looked out the window and saw that we WERE indeed going into the city, and I was like "Oh! Wait a minute! A- Terrace IS in the city! I pass by that street thousands of times!" Doh!)
Got off at the right stop and then waited for about five minutes, out of which I was briefly terrorized by a couple of hooligans skulking on the other side of the bus stop (where IS my knife?!? I really need to start pulling it out again!), and I was definitely relieved when this middle-aged woman with a short crop do and this sweet old couple showed up. The bus finally shows up and I hop on, and start worrying that I might miss my stop. I needn't have worried, not even a blind person could have missed that hospital, the bus went right by the front entrance. I was the only person to get off at the bus stop; I wonder if anyone else on that packed bus wondered what kind of treatment I was receiving at the hosp, haha. Walked past an incredibly happy and noisy family who looked more as if they were out for a day at the park rather than at the hospital and got slightly confused for a moment at the number of blocks surrounding me. Anyway, I managed to get into the right block on the first try and made my way past gift shops and serene-looking ponds surrounded by loads of greenery and cafes full of old people and biker dudes with bandaged arms while following the very cunning signs directing me to the blue lifts which took me clear round the entire hospital.
Anyway, got to the sleep clinic, which, as you can imagine, was very quiet and hush-hush. The doctor whom I was interviewing was a very nice guy, and he's from my country as well! He's even from the same town which my mother comes from! We got through the interview quickly and he very kindly saw me out, and then back I went, traisping past odd paintings and gift shops and serene-looking ponds and cafes and out the hospital!
Then I spent another hour riding two long bus trips home.
Got home and had a most healthy lunch of mushrooms, tomatoes, vegetarian pasta and very odd-tasting potatoes courtesey of the vege cafe on campus, then hurriedly transcribed my interview, because Sam, the guy in charge of all the media equipment at Humanities, wouldn't allow me to keep the mini disc recorder for another day. Finally, headed back across campus to hand the recorder over to Sam, then got home and basically collasped!
Whew, what a day! I'm not used to expanding so much energy. And again, all that talking about sleep disorders and sleeping for my article just makes me want to go to sleep myself. My bed is beckoning to me very seductively.
Hmmm, what tonight calls for is a relaxation night. I foresee a great dinner, a hot shower, followed by a facial of Elizabeth Arden's hydrotherapy masque, which smells absolutely the greatest, like rose petals or something, maybe followed by some meditation time, since I haven't tried out that meditation CD in the meditation kit which Baby Brother's dad got for me, and light some candles, and some TV time too - they're showing Ghost in the Shell on the foreign channel tonight. The Lost Smoker told me about it and I caught last week's episode last night and it is fun! I haven't watched any anime in ages. Mmm. And Aik has some cheap red wine in the fridge which he welcomes me to finish off.
The only thing that threatens to ruin my relaxation night is the fact that I still have my first draft due tomorrow. Rats! Which means I'll have to work on it as well. Hmph.

Yesterday's four hours of radio shift wasn't too bad! Due to the fact that I actually went to bed early so that I could actually get up in an alert fashion at sevenish in the morning. And I ran out the moment the clock hand hit noon and raced home to wake the Duchess up in a very loud and chirpy manner, which she definitely did not appreciate. (Ha-ha! Look who enjoys being woken up now!)
Anyway, I dragged her out for lunch and a little grocery shopping. We bumped into the Lost Smoker and a friend of his during lunch - yet another friend of his that we can finally be sure exists - heehee, because I always hear about these people but rarely ever get to spot them. It's like trying to spot fairies.
Got home and tried to get some work done but people kept coming over or calling me up to come over to their flats! Dear old Prawn Cousin showed up in the evening with dinner - the leftovers of my Thai green chicken curry and rice from last night's dinner, and for some strange reason, three slices of pizza as well. I must admit, I was a little hesitant about trying the pizza in case it was booby trapped but it did taste good, mmm. After stuffing myself, I continued to work while chatting with Bundles and Screaming Sour and the Lost Smoker online. There was a lot of debating going on in the Lost Smoker's flat over who was going to the pub that night, and the Lost Smoker kept giving me updates online between beers. I TOLD him to tell me if Mystery Wolf was going, and to give me an alert when they were leaving, but I left to wash one measly dish and when I got back all I saw was a message saying "We're leaving now" and they HAD GONE! They hadn't even waited for me! Enraged, I rang him up screeching "YOU DIDN'T WAIT FOR ME, BITCH!!!" I had to walk over to the pub by myself, while surprising some tall drunken blond boy who was peeing in the bushes by the Prawn Cousin's SUV, hahaha.
Anyway, when I got over to the tav, the Lost Smoker tried to defend himself with very measly reasons, as well as trying to pass on the blame over to Ad., the Nice Little Boy, and Mystery Wolf. Mystery Wolf had a perfect look of "What did I do? I'm innocent!" on her face. She wasn't drinking tonight because she's on medication but that didn't stop her - she got lifted into the air by tons of boys that night. ;) There was a lot of people-lifting that night too. Ant. got smashingly drunk and lifted nearly everyone he saw, including Mystery Wolf, moi, and the Lost Smoker(!there's been way too many boys being lifted in the air these days, including Nanny Bones!) into the air. The Columbian was also pretty drunk and hyped up; he was dancing all over the place. We left him chatting to some brunette, I wonder if he managed to get it on with her last night! For the first time, I had no cigarettes but I managed to bum a bunch of cigs off a bunch of people, including a very nice friend of the Tall One's, the Columbian, the Pothead Teddy, M-L, and this very nice woman in the ladies'.
Shortly after the tav closed, I traisped off home with the Mystery Wolf and the Lost Smoker. They wanted me to head over to their place and continue drinking but I had an eleven o'clock interview for my sleep disorders article the next morning at a hospital which is about an hour's bus ride (and TWO bus rides) away so I headed back to my flat while the Mystery Wolf shouted "Aw, you're no fun!" after me. Well, we all can't be carried high over people's heads by tall boys, hahaha. I saw that some of the guys were still up in the Transit Flat so I pushed my way through the bushes and pounded on the window causing Nanny Bones to glare at me and go "SHUSH!" I don't know what he's on about, everyone in his flat is either up and drinking in the kitchen/living room or are still outside the tav, with the possible exception of Jen, who probably isn't even at home. They let me into the flat and I chatted a little with them - Baby Brother was drinkin again! And the Turbanator accused me of being drunk. I had like, what, four beers? These boys in the Transit Flat are always accusing me of fool things - like waking up the flat when there isn't even anyone asleep in the flat to wake up, or being drunk when I'm perfectly all right. Anyway, I finally headed back up to my own flat, which is flooded by greenery due to Moon Von's vases of huge lilies and their massive leaves, to take a shower and flop into bed.

On Saturday night, there was a party going on at the Transit Flat, for Nanny Bone's girlfriend (though now she is no longer his girlfriend!). I almost didn't go due to a tiff with Nanny Bones but Baby Brother convinced me to go and we made up and all was well. Loads of people were there, mostly boys. Saw the Colored Fringe and the Dervish after ages, they were kind of bored there. Loads of people got drunk but I was planning on keeping a low profile so I didn't drink too much and for once was one of the more sober people observing all those drunkard fools. Hahah! Although I did end up, er, throwing up at one point, but that was because these couple of guys made me chug down way too much beer way too fast.
Baby Brother got drunk for the first time ever and amused all of us until he passed out and then there this was this huge fight which erupted between Nanny Bones, Prawn Cousin, and a couple of other guys over little passed-out Baby Brother. But, keeping with my low profile purpose, I just sat on the couch and listened to Shuddup tell me the most amusing stories ever.
On Sunday headed over to the uni to help the Duchess film some stuff for her FTV class. Spent most of the time sitting in the sun watching them rip apart the Engineering and Nurses Ball posters and argue with the Lost Smoker. After that, the Duchess, myself, Baby Brother, Prawn Cousin and M went over to Carousel and watched Red Eye and Sky High. And I think I've found my perfect guy! Warren Peace! He can light my fire any time! Whoot! Hahaha! Me and the Duchess were just oogling him throughout the movie.
After that, we headed back to Baby Brother's, where the Duchess tried her hand at making chapatis which turned out pretty good although she felt they didn't. We had a really late supper/dinner kind of thing before settling our stuffed selves down to watch some Indian Movie, Salaam Namaste. It didn't have subtitles but I pretty much figured everything out.

Evil, evil, evil!
In a fit of nostalgia, I returned to listening to my Cruel Intentions soundtrack today. And it makes me think of the most devious things I could ever devise to do to my friends. Only I'm kind of nice, so I won't actually do those things. :)
I think I'll search for the English copy of Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos De Laclos. Either that or force someone to translate the entire book for me, you know who you are, hahaha. I had also planned to walk in my dungeon with a red apple in my hand, like Snow White's stepmother, only I don't have any apples. I had planned to buy some earlier but I was too lazy to stop by the fruit store on the way home from grocery shopping with the Duchess. Also, the eggs and juice was wearing my down and I had to get home quick before my arms collasped on me.
Let's stir the soup of trouble. Mmm. And watch the sparks fly off the cauldron!
These are all references to obscure things in my life which only few people understand what they mean.
Speaking of which, turns out some bitch took about a shot of my birthday gin. Bloody hell.
Finally finished Mr Nice, that autobiography of Howard Marks, that marijuana smuggler, that the Soft-Spoken Socializer lent me. He'd be glad to get it back. I've had it for several months now. The book's not riveting enough for me to finish in two days, but it has its moments, I guess.

I feel like lounging high up in the boughs of some old and ancient apple tree, while sunshine falls over me through the apple-scented leaves and some young pale skinny boy plays the guitar beneath. But that would be unlikely to happen now - it is now night.
I wonder if the moonlight would penetrate through the waters of the duck pond in the freezing cold far away on the fields, until it shone down on that impenetrable hole somewhere in the depths of the pond where I figure the ducks hold their breath and sleep the night away, since the last time we made a drunken excursion to the pond in the mid of the night there were no ducks there.
But that is impossible to suggest - we do not know if the night will be freezing cold tonight. It probably is - but you never know. Volcanos could snow and owls might plunge through the depths of the oceans while riding on huge old tortoises's backs.
I feel like going wandering through the halls of my flat, listening to the sound of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as they rehearse their next album in the next room, before running my hands along the cracks of the walls and stepping out onto the balcony to have a cigarette. But that will never happen, the walls have no cracks, only lots of sharp little bumps that could gut a salmon fish wide open if you fling it against the walls.
Where oh where is my James Iha album when I need it? Or maybe I need some other album - but I can't place my finger on what it is. But maybe all I need is some gin - and that is possible, there is a bottle sitting right next to me.
If we look through the diaries of our lives, what would we find? Maybe a much-needed buttercup or a cup full of butter, either one would be good. Maybe we would also need some bread to have with our butter - nice, toasted, brown bread. And a cup of sugar, brown sugar, to spread atop the buttered bread. And some sprinklings of cinnamon. Mmm. Gumbo jumbo, where are you when we need you? Let's go the beach and continue on our ramblings.

Yaaah... where is everyone now?
My love has died, withered like a rose on the first day of summer when the gardener forgets to put out the fertilizer.
Wait, I don't have a love. As the Philosopher has commented, I am a cold, heartless bitch. Better a cold, heartless bitch than a starving gutter philosopher, I say.
On a flurry of goodwill and love, I decided to give Marcus a long-distance call today. There was a lot of shouting and screaming and loud music and I thought I discerned one or two gunshots on the other end of the line while he shouted, "Can'ttalkrightnowtoobusywillcallyouback."
"But I've never called you before in my life!" I shrieked but he had already hung up on me. I tried ringing back but the line went dead. Hmph. Selfish bastard. See if I ever ring him up again.

Was suppose to head down for the girls' nite at the common room but unfortunately didn't make it to the office in time to sign up. Oops! Sorry, L.O.! Wish I did, though, it sounds like it would be a fun night.
Guiltily skipped out on class this morning. I couldn't help it, I was too exhausted. The Duchess didn't help much, she messaged and rang me at least three times in the midst of my deep, peaceful slumber. I ended up waking up at noon and bashing my knee against the wall in an incredibly painful way. I swear, the walls of this place are rough enough to kill people if you shove them against the walls hard enough.
Am listening to the BEP's latest album, Monkey Business. Wish I was going to the concert. Is it even over yet? This place has lousy advertising when it comes to concerts.
Managed to drag myself to class this afternoon. We ended up sitting outside to enjoy the nice sunshin-y day. Our tutor led us on this looong tour all over campus until we ended up by the duck pond, which is good because it's so near where I live. And then we ended up sitting in the shade and freezing in the wind, when warm sunshine was only metres away.

Still extremely tired, but never mind. I have just gone through my meditation kit. In my Book of Inner Beauty, which I just carelessly flipped through, the book just so happens to randomly fall open to the page on Tirelessness. When I have tirelessness I will have a healthy restlessness apparently. It's given me the strength to push on in spite of my exhaustion because with a true sense of awareness of life I will never be tired again. Or so the book says. I had to read it two or three times to understand it because I was so tired. Maybe Moon Von could be roused from her mountains of assignments to make me some oven-baked chips. Even though I have had already had two heavy lunches and a huge hunk of a scone that the Duchess bought for me the other day.

I am absolutely tired but i can't sleep right now.
Sigh.
We need much sleep.
This coming from a person trying to write an article on sleep disorders.
Last night I attended a meditation seminar with Baby Brother, his parents, and the Duchess. The speaker had some interesting things to say but he was really really really slow in speech, man, he paused after every one or two words! I was standing at the back of the room (it was filled up to the max) and I was just watching everyone shift impatiently in their seats. And then we had a meditation at the end and everyone lined up to receive a sweet and a blessing.
Baby Brother's dad also got the Duchess and I gifts - he gave the Duchess a book and he gave me a meditation kit which is just so the coolest! It's got a poster, a bookmark, meditation books, and a meditation CD. It's really cool and it was really nice of his dad. His parents are leaving tonight, on a ten pm flight. They're really sweet, the two of them, especially his mother. She's a darling.
After that we went back to Baby Brother's house where his mother made us dinner (roti chapati with beans and rice) and then Baby Brother drove the Duchess and I home. The Duchess sat down to begin her assignments like the good girl she is (haha!) but I got restless. It was already eleven thirty so there was no point in going down to the pub since it closes at midnight so I waited around for the Lost Smoker and the Mystery Wolf to come home. The pub was boring tonight anyway, according to the Lost Smoker, and the Mystery Wolf was in a bad mood because she hadn't had anything to drink because she's sick. So I didn't miss much. Had a glass of whiskey and coke while watching a really boring David Lynch movie starring Patricia Arquette and listening to the Lost Smoker ramble on viciously in his semi-drunkenness and watching Mystery Wolf move around the flat restlessly, then headed home to sleep. Because I was, and am, still TIRED!

Am craving chicken deep-fried in lots of yummy honey batter. I wish I could get to the food court in Northbridge right now. I'm so hungry! I wonder if the dryers are empty now. Couldn't be bothered to trudge down to the laundry house again so soon though. Today was wonderfully sunny and bright but there's been a chilly wind sweeping through every few minutes. I wonder if I could get someone to walk down to KFC and get me a dinner. Yum. Lessee... I'm sure there's someone that I can blackmail/bribe/persuade to do this. If only it were yesterday, when EVERYONE i knew decided to walk down to KFC. I would have half a dozen dinners sitting on my table right now then.

Grrrrrrrr.
Collect your laundry, people!
This is the third time I've been to the laundry house to see if any dryers are up for grabs.
Two loads are done but their owners haven't been to collect them yet.
Someone has been trying to steal my laundry basket.
On the way back from the laundry house, caught sight of the Tall One, the Columbian, and the Caretaker crammed on the sofa on the Tall One's balcony. The Tall One waves with a big smile on his face. They are all obviously HIGH.

All right, all right, I said this in my last post but this really takes the cake. What a long time it's been since I've blogged! What excuses can I offer for my lack of updates? Haven't been blogging due to various purposes, amongst them the fact that I haven't been online much, and the reason why I haven't been online much is also due to various purposes, amongst them the fact that I've been too busy living my life. Ha-ha! However, due to the fact that loads of people have been clamouring for me to continue updating (even though most of them see me face-to-face everyday, for them my blog seems to be a kind of written confirmation that they were, indeed, graced by my presence on a daily basis and that we do enjoy happy experiences together), well, anyway, enough of this. I am going to blog as much as I can, or anyway, want to.
This is why I do not keep journals.
I am blogging today because I desperately need to nap but I have to stay awake until someone finishes with their dryers and allows me to dump my laundry into the dryer.
Due to my laziness, I shall just compile a list of things that have been happening since the last time I've blogged, instead of writing long posts about the past days. Things which I remember, anyway.
1) Went go-karting with the Duchess, Baby Bro, Prawn-Cousin, Prawn-Cousin's girlfriend, the Social Maple Leaf, and JP. It was the first time I ever went go-karting and although I went unwillingly (since I once swore never to try go-karting), it was pretty fun although the corners were very scary and I was the slowest person on the circuit. Even the younger kids were whizzing past me.
2) Have also eaten lots of Indian food. Am now sick of Indian food. We won't be having that for a little while.
3) However the Duchess has started working at The Maharaja as a Waitress In Black. Went to visit her on her first day with Baby Brother and his parents and the Prawn-Cousin, it was entertaining watching her being all meek and mild as she served diners.
4) Also was dragged out to a day of shopping yesterday by Baby Brother and the Duchess to get the Duchess a pair of practical black shoes for her job. Had fun shouting very loudly at the Duchess in the morning. Also prevented myself from buying any clothes - it was a triumphant feat.
5) *Smacks head*. How could I forget?!? The most important event of all! I TURNED 21!!! It was a relatively drunken birthday, of which I did not remember much, and of which the Lost Smoker triumphantly took a video shot of a post-birthday me sitting morosely at the kitchen table of Flat 28 and saying sadly, 'I told myself I wouldn't drink so much for this birthday. But I did." or some such thing like that. I now have quite a few snapshots on my camera of people whom I have met on my birthday but don't remember. I also keep bumping into people that I have met but don't remember. I suppose everyone had a good time. Hahaha!
6) The Mystery Wolf also turned 21 yesterday!!! One hour into her birthday we presented her with a chocolate cake that I and the Duchess had baked for her. We also each presented her with a glass of chivas to down, according to the Duchess it is a 21 birthday custom which I was not forced to go through with on my own birthday because I was drunk enough by then. Poor Mystery Wolf had a rough time of it taking down half a massive bottle of Chivas. She kind of threw up and passed out after that and couldn't take anything more for the rest of the day. But today is a different day so we expect her to drink mucho tonight. ;)
7) Managed to finish my interviews with and article on Wiccans, albeit with much hysteria after discovering that my deadline was much sooner than I thought it was. I am thankful to God for helping me out with this one. Am now pursuing an article on sleep disorders with determination not to miss the deadline this time.
8) Everyone is planning to get a tattoo. 'Nuff said. More on this later.
9) Went to the convention centre with the Duchess, Mystery Wolf, A. and the Lost Smoker to get our hands on loads of stolen goods that the good police force of this city have gained from raids on criminals and are now selling for really cheap prices. There wasn't much worth buying - nothing appealing to us anyway. I did end up with a whole bunch of books.
10) Speaking of books, I have also finally gotten my hands on the latest Harry Potter book, which the Duchess very kindly gave me as a birthday present! Thank you, honey! My inventory of birthday presents is as follows: 1 Harry Potter book, burnt brownies, and a birthday chocolate cake which I did not remember eating on my birthday but from all accounts from everyone else and what I heard it was very good - all this from the Duchess, that lovely friend o' mine; 1 bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin from the Soft-Spoken Socializer which I am still refraining from opening because there's still loads more to consume in the kitchen; 1 Cirque du Soleil zebra mask, 1 pair of lovely chandelier earrings, 1 LotteryWest crossword puzzle (from which I won $15) and 1 pair of false eyelashes(!?) from my sister, also she treated me to dinner at some fancy Italian restaurant which I was unable to enjoy because of a severe hangover; many silvery dick-shaped balloons floating around flat 28 courtesey of The Perfect Toast!; a surprise birthday card from the Hazelnut, that long-lost girl, a pretty pink watch that's just a tad little over-sized and which I would have to take to the watchmaker to fix it so I can wear it from Moon Von, and, well, I think that's it, actually. Everything was very lovely and I love all of the presents I got, thanks so much you guys!!! You're the best!!! HUGZ.
11) Ah, movies. Watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the other day. It was so-so. Had no cravings for chocolate. Johnny Depp's haircut was atrocious. Missed Pirates of the Caribbean and Who's Eating Gilbert Grape very much while watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
